The Company:

We're partnering with a company that builds open-source infrastructure that creates a feedback loop for optimizing LLM applications. By integrating with their model gateway, you can send metrics to improve models over time—making them smarter, faster, and more cost-effective.

The Role:

As a Backend Engineer, you'll use Rust to build a scalable high-performance system working closely with the co-founders. Your focus will be on optimizing performance, refining architecture, and implementing observability tools for reliability. You'll also manage key integrations with third-party services and APIs. As one of the first technical hires, your work will directly influence the company's growth and technical direction.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Experience building backend systems from scratch with significant ownership of technical direction and deliverables, preferably in a startup setting.
• Strong proficiency in Rust for building high-performance, scalable backend systems.
• Experience using ClickHouse for data storage, processing, and optimization.
• Active involvement in open-source projects, showing collaboration and technical skills.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, architecture, and best practices for scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases and backend performance optimization.
• Ability to integrate backend systems with other services, APIs, and third-party tools.
• Familiarity with deploying and scaling machine learning models in production.
• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and scalable infrastructure.
• Collaborating with co-founders on architectural decisions and contributing to strategic technical goals.

The Benefits:

A base salary between $200,000 - $240,000 + Equity and comprehensive health, dental, vision, and 401k benefits
