JOB SUMMARYAssist furnace operators by performing tasks necessary in the preparation of molds to be loaded and unloaded into the furnaces.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate tow motor to move alloy to furnace from crib and load molds into pre-heat ovens.
  • Load alloy charges onto and into the furnace.
  • Load molds into pre-heat kilns.
  • Unload molds from kilns into furnace using manipulator.
  • Unload molds from furnace at 2300 degrees fahrenheit to cooling carts.
  • Load molds into casting units.
  • Transfer molds from foundry to knockout.
  • Perform basic Maintenance around furnace (TPM).
  • Assist operators with furnace change overs.
  • Clean furnaces using PAPR unit.
  • Train to become an operator.
  • Help maintain machine when problems occur.
  • Perform 6S duties of furnace and foundry.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures with emphasis on safety.
  • Support foundry operators as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High school Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience: Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Certifications/Licenses: N/A
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Read. Write legibly. Basic math skills. Good written communication skills. Good verbal communication skills. Good problem-solving skills
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Working Environment: Manufacturing/Factory environment.
  • Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
  • Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
  • Shoes/Boots: Steel toed needed in all areas of the plant.
