Job Description:
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Foundry Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, improving, and optimizing foundry processes to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of casting processes, metallurgical principles, and quality control techniques. The Foundry Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality assurance, to drive continuous improvement and resolve technical challenges.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and optimize foundry processes to improve quality, productivity, and cost-efficiency.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Design and develop new casting processes, including mold design, metal flow, and heat treatment.
  • Monitor foundry processes and equipment, ensuring they are operating efficiently and within specified parameters.
  • Troubleshoot process-related issues, including defects and inconsistencies in casting production.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to develop and implement testing procedures and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in foundry operations, casting processes, and metallurgy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Knowledge of quality control methodologies and tools (e.g., SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Experience with automation and robotics in foundry processes.
