Position Type: Business Office /Administrative Support/ClericalDate Posted: 10/10/2024Location: Fowler School DistrictDate Available: 12/02/2024Fowler High School Administrative Assistant Position Purpose Under the direct supervision of the FHS Principal, to provide clerical, secretarial and administrative assistance to Fowler High School, conveying information regarding school functions and procedures; and supporting the broad array of services provided to students, parents, instructional and support employees. Essential Functions
  • Prepares, copies and distributes notices, memoranda or other correspondence for the purpose of informing school employees regarding activities, events or other work-related matters.
  • Assists in maintaining documents, files and records
  • Assists in maintaining inventories of supplies and materials for the purpose of ensuring items' availability.
  • Assists visitors to the office, including students, parents, substitutes teachers, and others.
  • Manages daily and period-by-period student attendance.
  • Manages building entry.
  • Manages/Coordinates arrangements for Substitute Teachers or Aides
  • Answers telephone calls, and provide information and assistance to callers.
  • Evaluates situations for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Responds to inquiries from students, parents, visitors, and employees, providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school.

  • Ability to describe problems and work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations.
  • Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, copy machine, telephone.
  • Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Internet, electronic mail, Google apps, Goedustar, etc.).
  • Ability to problem solve job-related issues.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to process paperwork accurately according to standardized procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of office management procedures.
  • Successful experience with office management preferred.
  • Works in standard office and school building environments.
Start Date: December 2, 2024 Work Day: 7:45am - 4:00pm Work Year: 2 weeks before school starts and 2 weeks after school ends Hourly Rate: Step 5 of 2024-25 Support Staff Salary Schedule ($16.10 per hour) All applicants must possess at least a High School Diploma or equivalent, have no criminal record, and pass all background checks (fingerprinting, etc.).
