The Role:

As the Fractional CFO will be responsible for shaping the company's financial strategy and ensuring its fiscal health. Collaborating closely with the CEO and COO, they will assess current financial operations and controls and further develop the company's financial plans, manage investor relations, and oversee all financial operations.

Strategic Partnership:

  • Partner with the CEO and COO to develop short and long-term strategies.
  • Act as the investor relations liaison with VC investors and Board Members.

Fundraising and Financial Modeling:

  • Develop pitch decks and manage end-to-end fundraising for Series B and Series C rounds.
  • Develop and improve financial models to support fundraising and operational efforts.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Partner with the leadership team members to ensure appropriate controls.
  • Build relationships with the leadership team and implement decision making KPIs and metrics.
  • Manage the existing financial operations personnel and vendors.

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

  • Establish a world-class FP&A function and ensure a sensible cash burn approach.
  • Manage and improve budgeting and forecasting processes.

Controls and Compliance:

  • Oversee the implementation of financial controls, tax, and compliance processes.
  • Manage and implement scalable systems and continuously seek improvements to financial operations affiliated with AP and AR.

Team Building and Mentorship:

  • Build, train, and mentor a strong finance team.

Operational Support:

  • Support operational, legal, and people projects.
  • Take responsibility for all cash management, investments, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Financial Strategy and Research:

  • With the CEO and COO, drive the company's financial strategy.
  • Analyze internal operations to identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • 7+ years in a financial leadership role, preferably working with the C-Suite/Executive leadership
  • You have experience working with VC-backed start-ups (Healthtech, Fintech preferred).
  • Expertise in building finance teams and working within clinical managed services
  • You have experience understanding MSO/PC operational structures and virtual care companies.
  • Deep understanding of Sage Intaact, Athenaclinicals, and finance SaaS solutions.
  • Understanding of current accounting practices and trends.
  • Experience in raising capital and adapting to change.
  • You have experience in scaling up businesses.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Comfortable in a leadership role requiring clear and effective communication.
  • Experience in market validation and success in related areas of healthcare.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • BA or MBA (preferred) in finance or accounting with work experience in an accounting/CPA firm, healthcare/healthtech, or investment banking/private equity.
  • Experience in delivering VC funding rounds (Series A, B, or C).
  • Experience in a regulated environment.
