We are looking for an assistant FP&A candidate for a top beauty company in NYC. Hybrid schedule.Potential for a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for accurately reporting and analyzing shipments and retail sales forbrands on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis as well as participating in the design, testing, implementation, and review of complex manual and automated financial reporting. A key priority is establishing open communication with internal departments, sales teams, and the central distribution centers. Effective communication is a critical skill. Reports into and works closely with FP&A Manager. Responsibilities:
- Month-end Close - accruals, variance analysis, and preparation of monthly executive package to be distributed to key stakeholders
- Analyze ways of working/design alternatives and identifies potential improvements to existing processes.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information and the sharing of best practices- attention to detail is a necessity.
- Maintain relationships with Sales and Planning teams and Field teams through consistent and comprehensive communication, and providing support as needed
- Support Financial Planning & Analysis teams to ensure concise, standardized, and effective processes and communication
- Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly sales & retail reporting to show performance against established goals
- Recap Weekly Shipping from Domestic business & updating Account Executives on their performance against goals
- Identify opportunities within the business and provide analysis
- Execute Ad hoc reporting requests from the sales organization
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional finance experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Experience in month end close, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Experience with large ERP systems; Netsuite highly preferred
- Deep understanding of the consumer goods industry
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills
- Strategic thinker who is adaptable and willing to take on varying responsibilities to support the FP&A team
