Title: Freelance Commerce WriterEmployment Type: FreelanceLocation: RemoteThe Arena Group is seeking a freelance Commerce Writer to contribute to our daily commerce content across our portfolio of brands, including Men's Journal, The Street, Parade, and more. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating commerce content for a range of lifestyle topics, including style, home goods, consumer electronics. Responsibilities will include pitching daily stories to the commerce editors, writing new stories and updating and optimizing evergreen content. The ideal candidate has experience writing commerce content in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, including news and trends pieces as well as long-form evergreen roundups. This is a freelance position with competitive hourly rates commensurate with experience. Our expected hourly pay rate is $25 - $35 per hour. - Pitch daily to the commerce editorial team
- Write 2-4 commerce stories a day with the ability to pivot quickly if a more pressing priority arises
- Monitor daily news cycle and flag commerce opportunities
- Update and optimize existing stories with fresh info to keep commerce content up-to-date and useful for readers
- Work closely with team members on tentpole events like Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday
- Build articles in the CMS cleanly and with commerce best practices in mind
