Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Freelance Web Designer to assist in the build-out of visually stunning and responsive internal websites that align with Activate's branding and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of web design, user experience (UX), and front-end development, working closely with our creative and marketing teams to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions for internal use. This temporary role requires an eye for detail and a passion for crafting seamless, high-performance web experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create visually appealing, responsive websites aligned with Activate's internal branding and marketing objectives.
  • Ensure websites are optimized for user experience (UX), mobile compatibility, and SEO to enhance internal user engagement and functionality.
  • Work with creative directors, designers, and content creators to deliver cohesive web solutions tailored to Activates internal needs and goals.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative designs for internal marketing and company-wide initiatives.
  • Modify templates and ensure seamless integration of multimedia content such as images, videos, and interactive elements across internal platforms.
  • Provide ongoing updates and maintenance to internal websites, including content changes, bug fixes, and feature enhancements as necessary during the build-out period.
  • Ensure optimal site speed, security, and cross-browser compatibility for all internal users across various departments.
  • Implement best practices in web standards, accessibility, and UI/UX design to ensure Activates internal websites are user-friendly and compliant with web standards.
  • Handle multiple internal design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and project milestones as set by the internal teams.
  • Communicate progress and updates regularly with project managers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing teams to integrate the websites with tools like Google Analytics and CRM platforms for tracking and performance optimization of internal sites.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience.
  • An extensive portfolio of successfully designed and developed websites, including responsive designs, UX-focused projects, and creative digital solutions

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency with web design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) for creating website elements, mockups, and wireframes, as well as front-end development languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for implementing web layouts and interactivity.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), SEO tools (Yoast, SEMrush), and Google Analytics/Tag Manager for website customization, optimization, and performance tracking, along with browser developer tools for testing and debugging.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in task management or project management software (Asana is a plus).
