Job Description:

LHH is seeking a Dispatch Manager for an amazing manufacturing company in Sylacauga, AL. You will oversee both automated and manual dispatch operations for various locations within North American Performance Minerals. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all orders are delivered on time, handle transportation-related issues effectively, and continuously improve dispatch processes.

Responsibilities:

  • TMS System Oversight: Leverage the TMS System and collaborate with Core Carriers to achieve timely delivery for Imerys customers. Address orders flagged as Exception Status by rerouting them to carriers who can meet the required delivery timelines.
  • Issue Communication: Inform Customer Service (CS) and the Dispatch Leader of any transportation issues promptly. Provide proactive updates to CS regarding any potential delays in order fulfillment due to transportation problems.
  • Carrier Management: Ensure that carriers promptly record delivery details in the TMS system. Coordinate with the Sales Production Coordinator and CS to resolve any issues causing delays in pickups or deliveries.
  • Operational Coordination: Manage the process for depleting contaminated silos. Handle transportation-related complaints from origin plants and provide resolutions.
  • Quality Control: Write ISO non-conformance reports for carriers not meeting ISO standards.
  • Process Enhancement: Identify and implement more efficient dispatch processes. Promote continuous improvement through process optimization techniques.
  • Carrier Rate Management: Ensure consistency in carrier rates when changes in equipment availability lead to the assignment of new carriers.
  • Metrics Monitoring: Track and maintain assigned performance metrics to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the dispatch function.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: Strong abilities in verbal, written, and listening communication; proficiency in spelling, grammar, and mathematics.
  • Operational Skills: Capability to instruct, persuade, assist, and coach.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Lotus Notes. Familiarity with additional computer applications is beneficial.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Education: Completion of high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Lotus Notes is required. Experience with other software is a plus.
