JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for working both cooperatively with the Operations staff and the Branch Manager to grow existing customers, create new customers and exceed to maintain competitive service rates and increase NNR's market share while increasing customer service. Handle and coordinate customers demand between sales and operation staff, take care of cargo claims and close files.
Duties & Functions
Essential:
• Perform customer service duties with correspondence to customers and overseas partners, e-mails fax, etc
• Provide customers with shipping information, inbound/outbound transaction and inventory status information.
• Conduct telephone sales to prospective customers. Set up and maintain customer files and profiles.
• Update airline rates for sales department files.
• Gather inventory data, rate files, and create reports. Update statement data and issue Invoices for customers in a timely manner.
• Communicate with customers following sales and activities to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints.
• Contact customers who have not shipped regularly to determine shipping status.
• Assist operation staff with correspondence e-mails, faxes, etc.
• Perform other duties as requested
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education & Experience:
• High School diploma or GED.
• Prior Customer Service experience preferred. Japanese speaking a plus!
• Thorough knowledge of the freight forwarding industry for both International and Domestic.
• Basic knowledge of sales.
• Knowledge of inventory control.
• Proficient in PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to use basic math skills to calculate freight, storage, duty and other charges.
Physical requirements:
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Light/Medium work - Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, frequently and/or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
