An established and growing exporter in Wilmington seeks a Freight Forwarding Clerk to support logistics operations. This is a temp-to-hire position offering $24.00 – 25.96 per hour.

Requirements of the Freight Forwarding Clerk:

• College degree
• Experience in export, freight forwarding, logistics, distribution, or related is preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Accountable and mature work ethic
• Positive and proactive nature
• Good communication skills
• Computer savvy with proficiency in MS Word and Excel

Responsibilities of the Freight Forwarding Clerk:

• Create bookings with ocean freight shipping lines
• Prepare and update bookings with production department
• Help resolve booking issues
• Retrieve shipment details for AES and SI filing
• File AES and US Customs and Border for Export Declarations
• File shipping instructions and documentation with shipping lines
• Coordinate between drayage truckers and dispatch team to update bookings
• Coordinate between shipping line billing department and accounting department to assure that ocean freight is billed correctly and payment is arranged to release OBL
• Assist in resolving any invoice related issues
• Continue to improve forwarding process with regards to cost, efficiency and relationships
• Support other team members to archive target and cost savings
• Other related duties as assigned

Employment Type: Temp-Hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 5:30pm or 6:00pm
