MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma and one year clerical experience which includes typing using a typewriter, word processor or personal computer (OR) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits above.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Front Desk Attendant performs work under the general supervision of the Coordinator of Operations and performs the following duties:
- Open, review, sort and distribute mail and related files
- Prompt greeting and meeting of visitors or clients with staff members who are best able to meet their needs
- Answers telephone at reception desk, takes messages, gives general information and connects callers with proper offices
- Ability to greet visitors in a welcoming manner and provide requested information, ability to refer visitor to appropriate staff member after ascertaining their needs
- Be courteous and helpful in all interactions, including telephone conversations. Take complete messages in a professional and legible manner
- Design, set up and maintain files of correspondence and documents
- May substitute for other administrative support members during absences, lunch breaks, and in the event of illness
- Receive and check in orders as they arrive
- Assemble and coordinate background materials for meetings and conferences and prepare summary of conclusions
- Complete data entry. Prepare reports using statistical and narrative information.
- Orient staff to office and agency procedures
- Be alert monitoring all those that enter or leave the building
- Have thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedure
- Maintain lobby and desk area, clean and presentable workspace
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned
This is a full-time 12-month Management Confidential position with a salary range of $35,000-$38,000
