THE JOB: As a Front Desk Clerk at New York-New York, your main role will be to provide outstanding customer service by facilitating seamless check-ins and check-outs. You'll warmly welcome each guest and, by understanding their unique needs and stories, create WOW moments and unforgettable experiences that will be cherished long after their stay. STARTING RATE: $19 an hour THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Welcome Guests: Provide a warm and memorable welcome to guests, anticipating their needs and resolving any issues in alignment with S.H.O.W. Service Basics.
  • Guest Room Management: Oversee guest room check-ins and check-outs, including early and late arrivals/departures and walk-ins, ensuring a seamless and professional experience.
  • Guest Inquiry Handling: Answer phones and promptly address guest inquiries, offering assistance and information to enhance their stay.
  • Experience Enhancement: Offer room upgrades when available and promote M life enrollment and benefits to enhance the guest experience.
  • Department Collaboration: Work closely with Housekeeping and other departments to meet guest expectations and fulfill special requests.
  • Financial Transactions: Ensure accurate posting of charges and credits, manage payments, handle cash and credit transactions, and balance all cash and cash equivalents according to property cash handling procedures.
  • Key Management: Control and issue keys, maintaining the security, privacy, and confidentiality of all guests.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work Schedule: Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

  • Customer Service: Proven ability to deliver exceptional service and handle guest inquiries professionally.
  • Cash Handling: Experienced in managing cash transactions and balancing cash drawers accurately.
  • POS Systems: Proficient in using POS systems for transactions and reservations.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective guest interactions.
  • Attention to Detail: Accurate in managing guest accounts and verifying charges.
