Front Desk Associate Evenings & WeekendsYWCA Madison is looking for dependable and motivated individuals to work our Front Desk. This is a regular hire for continuous employment.The Front Desk Associate is responsible for maintaining a presence at the front desk providing security to the building by monitoring the traffic flow through the lobby and visitor access during Evening and Weekend shifts. Serves as a point of contact for building residents, directs clients to appropriate personnel, distributes information, responds to resident queries and complaints in a trauma informed manner, investigates disturbances, responds to emergency situations and completes the appropriate paperwork.One position is for 2-3 shifts a week (approx. 11-19 hrs/wk). Shifts are a combination of evenings (4:30pm-10pm), weekends (8am-4:30pm or 4:30pm-10pm) and occasional overnight hrs (10pm-8am, differential included/shift can be split). Ideal candidates must have availability for evening, weekend, occasional overnight hours to assist in the coverage of vacation & sick time of our overnight staff and be able to demonstrate excellence in customer service.A second position is open for Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 3 am. and assisting in coverage during evenings and weekends as needed (approx. 11-19 hrs/wk). Ideal candidates must have availability for evening, weekend, occasional overnight hours to assist in the coverage of vacation & sick time of our overnight staff and be able to demonstrate excellence in customer service.Ideal candidates will be at least age 18 and possess a High School Diploma, equivalency or be working towards degree completion and 6-12 months' work experience in customer service. Work experience in the area of residential housing, affordable housing programs, homeless shelter programs, and/or human services preferred though not required.Experience working with low-income populations; especially with individuals with mental illness &/or AODA issues, knowledge of Trauma Informed Care practices and the ability to make appropriate judgment calls during crisis situations preferred though not required.
