Job Description:
Location: Springdale, Utah POWDR is an adventure lifestyle company that inspires every human being with cool experiences in awesome places. Within POWDR's portfolio are seven mountain resorts including Copper Mountain and Eldora Mountain Resort in Colorado; Boreal Mountain Resort and Soda Springs in the Lake Tahoe region of California; Mt. Bachelor in Oregon, Snowbird in Utah and SilverStar Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada. Included in the POWDR portfolio, is Stovepipe Wells located in Death Valley National Park, operated under a long-term concessions contract with the National Park Service. Zion Lodge is in National Register of Historic Places designed in 1924 by Gilbert Stanley Underwood in the National Park Service rustic style. The Zion Lodge is a year-round operation with 76 hotels rooms, 6 suites and 40 cabins as well as a restaurant, outside grab and go caf, bar, gift shop and auditorium space. In the year 2025 a coffee and wine bar will be opening. Zion Lodge is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Zion National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment. Renewable energy projects and energy efficiency upgrades will also be completed as well as other Sustainability innovations. POWDR operates Zion Lodge under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service. Job Summary: The Front Desk Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Front Desk, ensuring that guests receive excellent service from the moment they arrive until they depart. This position supervises the Front Desk staff, Porters, Night Auditors, and Shuttle Drivers, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration between all departments. The Front Desk Supervisor works closely with the Front Office Manager to maintain high standards of guest service, resolve guest concerns, and ensure the operational efficiency of the lodge's front-of-house functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support Front Desk staff, Porters, Night Auditors, and Shuttle Drivers, ensuring they deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Oversee daily front desk operations, including guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and concierge services.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolving guest complaints or concerns, escalating issues to the Front Office Manager when necessary.
  • Train, mentor, and schedule staff to maintain effective coverage and service standards.
  • Monitor the performance of front desk employees, providing constructive feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed, including accurate reconciliation of daily transactions.
  • Assist with the scheduling and coordination of shuttle services for guests, ensuring efficient and timely transportation.
  • Collaborate with the Night Auditors to ensure smooth transitions between shifts and that all financial reports are completed accurately.
  • Work with the Front Office Manager to implement new processes and policies that improve guest service and operational efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain accurate guest information, reservations, and special requests using the property management system (PMS).
  • Ensure front desk, lobby, and entrance areas are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Coordinate and assist in guest luggage handling and deliveries by supervising Porter operations.
  • Maintain compliance with Zion Lodge's policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and national regulations regarding hospitality operations.

Work Location:
  • Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, housing will be provided on-site and commuting from the local vicinity is also acceptable.
  • Due to the nature of our business, Zion Lodge is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Able to work and thrive in Zion National Park.
  • Ability to requirements and compliance with our concessions contract.
  • Ability to get along well with people, be honest, punctual and reliable.
  • Ability to remain calm and friendly.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a front desk or hospitality-related role is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult guest situations with diplomacy, professionalism, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS) and reservation software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
