No matter where you work within the Co-op, we are dedicated to creating a culture where we embrace the uniqueness of our employees, ensure all feel welcome, accepted and appreciated.The Front-End Associate is responsible for engaging customers in a courteous, helpful, and friendly manner, completing customer transactions on the cash register, is knowledgeable about items in the store and offers and encourages Co-op membership, as well as completes other duties as assigned to support Front-End operations, including stocking, fronting and facing, and order picking within the store to help support our curbside order pick-up service.RequirementsRequired Experience, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be available to work part time 11am to 7pm three to four days a week
- High School diploma required
- Customer service experience required.
- Experience in retail or grocery (strongly preferred).
- Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain composure in adverse situations.
- Experience using touch screen register preferred.
- Knowledge of natural foods a plus.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others while being able to work independently without constant supervision and direction.
- Ability to readily adapt based on evolving Co-op needs or in response to feedback.
- Strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Readily adaptable to evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.
- Majority of time is spent on sales floor, which requires physical activity (i.e., prolonged standing (8 hours), repetitive bending, lifting, twisting and reaching.)
- Pulling/pushing carts.
- Ability to lift 10lbs.
