Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: Performs a variety of front office duties for the medical practice. Greet and assist all patients and visitors. Secure accurate insurance and demographic information from the patient to be entered into computer system. Answer and route incoming telephone calls as needed. Must be familiar with insurance rules and billing practices in order to assist patients with questions. Assist with patient check out and scheduling of any ordered diagnostic procedures or future appointments. Perform medical records duties such as filing, scanning and send outs as required. Position Requirements : Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent required. Experience: Minimum of 1 year front office and/or medical records experience in physician office or similar setting required. Special Qualifications: Must be able to use a computer and be familiar with Medical Office programs including EMR systems. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet applications required. Basic knowledge of medical terminology required . Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Knowledge/Mental Application: Requires a detailed working knowledge of modern administrative practices and procedures. Must be knowledgeable of system and department policies and be familiar with the interaction of other departments and physician offices for referral purposes. Must have strong working knowledge of computer operations as they relate to the department. Must have the ability to learn Meditech, and applicable practice EMR system. Must exercise an extremely high degree of initiative and judgment in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality with all patient relations.
