Job Description:

Squirrel Hill Health Center is seeking a dedicated and organized Front Office Coordinator (FOC) to join our team. The FOC will serve as the primary interface between patients and the health center, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This role involves providing prompt, courteous, and accurate services to patients and visitors, both in person and over the phone. The FOC is a key member of our care team, contributing to the delivery of quality comprehensive services and making SHHC a welcoming Medical Home for patients of all backgrounds.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Greet and check-in patients for appointments, verifying contact information and insurance status.

* Assist patients with the check-out process and schedule follow-up appointments.

* Reconcile end-of-day cash and credit card receipts.

* Follow procedures for the Medical Assistance Transportation Program and issue bus passes as needed.

* Retrieve and follow up on Patient Portal messages.

* Respond promptly to tasks from clinical staff.

* Act as a liaison between patients, care navigators, and clinicians, ensuring smooth information flow.

* Collaborate with Medical Assistants and the Clinical Team to provide high-quality care.

* Provide interpretation services if fluent in a second language, as directed.

Other Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with front office staff to manage mail and faxes.

* Maintain a neat and professional front office and waiting area.

* Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

* Be available to work at any SHHC location as needed.

* Work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager, Chief Operations Officer, and/or Director of Administrative Operations.

Qualifications:

* Knowledge of a second language is preferred.

* Excellent organizational skills and public interaction abilities.

* Proficiency with computers, printers, and fax machines.

* Basic knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding is preferred.

* Commitment to serving poor and underserved populations.

* Willingness to receive and maintain current with all CDC recommended vaccines
