Position Summary
Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who will be the first line of contact for a patient in the medical office. Position serves as the liaison between the physician and the patients. Information is gathered from the patient and entered into the computer system to create an encounter record. Responsible for upfront collections. Delivers customer service support to staff, patients, families, visitors.
Greets patients and visitors.
Registers patients, verifies patient information, explains and obtains necessary signatures.
Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls on a multi-line phone system.
Communicates with the answering service and ensures reminder phone calls are done daily.
Collects patient co-payments, deductibles, payments and assists patients with account balances and questions.
Reconciles cash/payment drawer and for the daily bank deposit.
Follows through on MD orders by providing work excuses, obtaining medical records.
Assembles and maintains patient records and charts.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum Work Experience
One (1) year of experience with office functions or customer service preferred.
Two (2) years of Medical Office experience preferred
