The Inpatient Front Office Specialist is responsible for a variety of billing, clerical, and communications functions vital to the overall operations of Inpatient Services.Benefits

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for answering the phone and directing calls to the appreciate place.
  • Responsible to do intakes clients looking for admission.
  • Responsible to do insurance authorization.
  • Responsible for data entry of MIS Admission and Discharge forms.
  • Responsible for entering all Financial /Insurance information into the computer. Works with Billing Office to resolve discrepancies.
  • Responsible for filing and pulling all medical records and organization of the chart room.
  • Responds to simple requests for information from Inpatient Medical Records.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Front Office.
  • Assists all who present at the Front Office receives client drop offs.
  • Answers all incoming phone calls, triages all calls, and handles requests where feasible.
  • Sorts mail and distributes.
  • Performs word processing for all Inpatient Staff.
  • Faxing.
  • Xeroxing.
  • Types and e-mails menu to all units.
  • Other duties as required.
Experience and SkillsEducation & Experience
  • GED required.
  • 1-2 years' office experience, preferred.
  • Ability to relate professionally and cooperatively with peers.
  • Set standards of performance for security staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Basic clerical skills in operating office equipment such as word processing, faxing, Xeroxing and data entry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, clients, and others.
