  • High school diploma
Experience Required
  • At least 4 years of military experience
  • Exposure and familiarity with the MCATS and TMT systems
  • Strong written communications skills to include a thorough knowledge of the procedures outlined in the Marine Corps Style Guide
  • Strong oral communications skills applicable to both one-on-one settings, group setting, and during formal Command presentations/tours
  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft systems to include PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to comfortably deal with high-ranking military personnel and Department of Defense civilians
  • Working knowledge of the Marine Corps APES, civilian human resource performance system, the Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS), and Improved Awards Processing System (IAPS)
  • In-depth knowledge of Share Point
  • A high degree of knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for organizational effectiveness
  • Working knowledge of the GS Standard Labor Data Collection and Distribution Application (SLDCADA) and the MCSS PeopleSoft timekeeping applications
Job ObjectiveThe objective is to support the front office (as known as the command deck) specific to the Commander, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Staff Secretary, and Protocol Officer in a myriad of administrative duties to include, but not limited to, preparing official correspondence, processing Marine Corps fitness reports and civilian performance appraisals, reviewing established Standard Operating Procedures for the section, implementing directives and control measures utilized for protocol, distinguished visitors, performance. awards, Marine Corps Action Tracking System, and Task Management Tool.Responsibilities
  • Develop the Assist in the coordination and management of an effective comprehensive protocol/Distinguished Visitor program based on a thorough knowledge of the Command's makeup to include its interrelationships
  • with other components of the Department of Defense, Special Operations Command, Congressional delegations, other government agencies, and foreign militaries
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships and communication with representatives from a myriad of both internal and external staff directorates to include those from Headquarters Marine Corps, SOCOM, Marine Corps Installations East (MCI-E), and Marine Corps Installations West
  • Assist in the development and planning of social functions to welcome, honor, or entertain visitors and distinguished guests for Command sponsored inter-unit social function hosted by the MARSOC Commander
  • Coordinate with the command deck staff to determine the adequacy of facilities, billeting, transportation, and any other support required by the MARSOC Commander and his staff
  • Assist in the maintenance of detailed files and documentation for all front office purchases
  • Assist in the implementation of the Manager's Internal Control Program and internal inspections associated with front office functions
  • Maintain daily calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate video teleconferences
  • Review, track, and disseminate correspondence originating from and coming to the front office
  • Assist in making travel arrangements to include hotel and rental car reservations for front office personnel
