POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Manager - Nursing Float Pool. In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of a centralized staffing system. Analyzes the centralized staffing system's ability to meet fluctuating staffing needs. Responsible for the management of all supplemental staff in the float pool, including hiring, orientation and performance evaluations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ensures that patient care services are delivered by qualified and competent staff. Ensures that all float pool agency personnel are properly oriented and credentialed. Conducts staff meetings with float pool staff to ensure that all staff are kept current with policies and procedures. Ensures staff participation in annual requirements. Maintains employee unit files as per NYU WUH HR guidelines.
• Oversees house wide staffing to ensure adequate coverage of nursing units with nursing department personnel. Reviews monthly unit schedules and recommends changes if needed. Balances house wide staffing needs with availability of float staff. Works with managers to obtain balanced staffing on individual units, taking into account vacancies, leaves and per diem availability.
• Collaborates with outside staffing agencies. Schedule approved agency staff as needed, balancing staffing needs with agency costs.
• Trains new managers and assistant managers. Provides ongoing training to nurse managers regarding new procedures and enhancements. Performs monthly Updates, Reset and Statistics Update. Confers with IT and Kronos Manager concerning any system problems.
• Maximizes utilization of Kronos software. Guides/educates management team regarding Kronos utilization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required. Current and valid NYS Registered Professional Nurse License Required. 3-5 years of Clinical Nursing experience in an acute environment Required. Certification in relevant practice area required. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership skills Required. Basic computer skills Required.. REQUIRED LICENSES: Registered Nurse License-NYS, Registered Nurse License-NYS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Nursing Preferred. 1-2 years of Leadership or supervisory experience Preferred.
