Job DescriptionKind and professional first time parents are looking for an experienced full time nanny to care for their baby girl starting in the new year.
THE DETAILSLocation: Kirkland 98033 - great neighborhood!
Start Date: Ideally, mid January (1/13). But the family can be somewhat flexible as the most important thing is that they find the right fit for their family.
Child: baby girl - 8 months old
Schedule & Hours: Full Time Monday through Friday from 9:30am - 5:30pm
Compensation: $33-$35/hr.
Benefits: Standard, PTO (guaranteed hours, paid sick time, paid vacation, paid holidays)
Duration: The family is looking for someone that can commit to a 6 month contract. They are waitlisted for a daycare and an opening will either be this July or next. There is also a possibility of a continued long-term relationship if ends up being a great match!
Work from home: Both parents work full time from separate home offices. Both parents have demanding jobs and will mostly be in their offices (located on the bottom floor of the house and away from the baby's room and play areas) during the work day (other than when they take their lunch breaks and Mom breastfeeds the baby).
Pets: None
Driving: The family will provide a car for on-the-job driving. Please note that this is not a job that will require a lot of driving (other than to/from activities for the baby as she gets older). But they live in a great walkable neighborhood close to parks and other fun things to do.
ABOUT THE FAMILYBoth parents are software engineers and enjoy walking, hiking, biking and spending time together as a family. The baby girl is active (she's crawling everywhere) and loves going for walks, being read to, listening to music and exploring the world around her. She is experiencing some separation anxiety (developmentally appropriate and right on target for her age), but is a very sweet natured, inquisitive and active baby. The family's home is welcoming, clean, organized and tidy.
ABOUT THEIR NANNYThis is a kind and thoughtful family ... with both Mom and Dad still adjusting to this new life as parents. The right nanny for this family is patient, nurturing, safety conscious, trustworthy, tidy by nature, highly dependable, a team player and very comfortable (and experienced) caring for babies and toddlers. The parents are hoping to find someone that comes to the table with ideas, is engaged and creative and has a good grasp of child development. Have a musical background? That would be a huge plus (but not required).
SOME WORDS FROM THE FAMILYPlease describe your child rearing preferences and expectations and include any parenting philosophies you implement: We prioritize physical and psychological safety of our daughter. We want her to be nurtured, encouraged and kept safe. We would love to find a nanny that comes to the table with ideas on activities, books, toys, etc. that promote development and exploration.
What are your family and household rules? We do not wear outside shoes in the house (nanny is welcome to keep house slippers here). No strong fragrances. Washing hands and generally keeping the areas the baby is in clean and hygenic (especially as she is crawling everywhere). We also do not expose the baby to screentime and ask the nanny to do the same. We value music and reading and learning through play and exploration.

Right now, we have Grandparents visiting from overseas and they will be returning home the 2nd week of February. They have been a huge help and have agreed to stay and help with the transition of the new nanny into our home. After that, it will likely be a long while before we have any other family visiting.
Do you or anyone in your household have allergies, intolerances, or dietary restrictions your nanny should be aware of? The baby may have an egg related allergic issue, but it has not been confirmed yet
