Job Description:

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pmThis is a building maintenance and repair position (not a maintenance cleaning role). Under direction of Director, the technician is responsible for maintaining buildings and property in quality condition. Performs repairs and conducts preventive and regular maintenance of buildings, furniture, fixtures and equipment. Unless otherwise noted as non-driving, all facility workers are expected to know how to operate ODM fleet vehicles. The driver must have a clean driving record to be approved per insurance standards, which includes a check for DUI/DWI, history of a suspended license, and/or vehicular manslaughter. Fleet includes a box truck, a refrigerated van, 8- passenger and 12- passenger vans, and a pickup truck.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs all work orders as assigned by Director or CoordinatorEnsure that premises and equipment are well maintained, clean and safe; inspecting work of technicians and providing feedback to director May be available after hours to respond to emergency situations pertaining to heating failure, water leaks, and inclement weather concerns and share on-call responsibilities with the directorAdminister approved procedures as it pertains to assignment of tasks, use of equipment, safety, preventative maintenance and repairsEnsure the efficient and prompt handling of all department work Perform from start to completion any and all of facilities related work ordersDaily tasks may include but are not limited to: general carpentry, remodeling, electrical, plumbing, painting, safety, locks, repair of any and all types of appliances & equipment typical to all residential & commercial facilities.Ensure Mission grounds are well-groomed and cleanSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Committed Christian with a commitment to and a passion for restoring hope and changing lives Serve as a positive role model for students and guestsSafety conscious with a good knowledge of facility operation and general maintenanceMust be a self-starter, able to work well alone or with others, including volunteers and studentsSkilled with power toolsAbility to work evenings and/or weekendsMeet and deal tactfully and courteously with donors, employees, volunteers, students, guests and vendorsAppropriately handles frequent changes, delays and unexpected eventsRemain calm in a crisis or emergency situationAble to read and write; and communicate via emailMust hold a current and valid New York State Driver's License and be willing to authorize a driver's record and background checkPhysically fit, knowledge of safe handling and lifting techniques
