Salary: $37,160.00 Annually Location : Albemarle Campus, NC Job Type: Full-time Staff Job Number: 00438 Division: Institutional Advancement Opening Date: 11/06/2024 GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Primary duties include daily activities for SCC-TV on Spectrum Channel 21. Provides video production services for SCC-TV and other SCC college-related tasks and projects. Responsible for studio set/design and development for SCC-TV video series. Responsible for scheduling shows with television personalities and media outlets. QUALIFICATIONSRequired:
  • Associate degree
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Non-linear video/audio editing concepts.
  • Understanding of video/audio equipment maintenance and specifications.
  • Functional knowledge of broadcast systems

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Management of SCC-TV Channel 21 & studio-related functions.
OTHER DUTIES
  • Content Creation and Curation: Produce original programming for a PEG channel that reflects SCC and community-related interests, and curate content from local organizations, schools, and government entities. Create video content to support outreach and recruitment efforts as well as internal employee communications.
  • Scheduling and Programming: Maintain a PEG channel broadcast schedule featuring diverse educational programs, community events, and government meetings, and oversee the maintenance and scheduling of on-campus digital messaging screens and entrance sign. Collaborate with the College's webmaster and Digital Marketing Coordinator to incorporate videos into the school website and social media accounts.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with local organizations, schools, and government agencies to support programming.
  • Technical Operations: Oversee production, video/audio editing, SCC-TV equipment purchase and maintenance, and broadcast standards.
  • Shooting Video: Collaborate on project goals and create shot lists during pre-production; set up and test cameras, lighting, and audio equipment; capture high-quality footage with proper framing and sound; direct talent and adapt to on-set challenges to ensure smooth production.
  • Editing Video: Manage video files by transferring, organizing, and backing them up for efficient access. Assemble and edit footage using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, cutting and arranging clips to create cohesive narratives. Enhance projects by adding transitions, titles, color corrections, and balance audio tracks to ensure clean, professional sound quality. Gather feedback from stakeholders, make necessary revisions, and export and deliver the final product in the required formats.
  • Graduation Assistance: Serve as a member of the College's graduation committee, overseeing and coordinating audio-visual needs for pinnings, honors events, and graduation ceremonies to ensure high-quality production and seamless execution.
  • Event Assistance: Support the Marketing & Outreach team with both on and off-campus events as needed.
  • Photography: Oversee and coordinate bi-annual headshot sessions for employees, managing the scheduling, setup, and execution to ensure professional-quality photos are produced.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Maintain flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpersonal Interaction: Cooperate, courteously, and professionally engage with students, the public, the community, and co-workers.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Measure and report on video engagement, using metrics such as video views, time spent on video, etc.
  • Committee Participation: Serve on college committees as requested.
  • Professional Development: Engage in activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, including meetings, conferences, training sessions, and seminars.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
