Purpose of Role:

Marex is seeking a Fuel Oil Broker who is an experienced, ambitious, and proactive individual, responsible for a portfolio of fuel oil products. Senior level position with the ability to work autonomously, and also as part of a team and directly engage with clients. Commercial ability to maintain good relationship with clients and find new ones to bring flow.

Marex has unique access across markets with significant share globally both on and off exchange. The depth of knowledge amongst its teams and divisions provides its customers with clear advantage, and its technology-led service provides access to all major exchanges, order-flow management via screen, voice and DMA, plus award-winning data, insights and analytics. This role covers the Fuel Oil function within the Energy department.

Responsibilities:

  • Dealing in commodity products, in particular Fuel Oil products.
  • Directly corresponding with clients, including banks, hedge funds, market makers, fund managers, institutional, trading houses, and refiners.
  • Assisting with the onboarding of new client relationships and maintaining existing ones, supporting colleagues as required, and engaging and updating clients.
  • Working efficiently and supporting the preparation of any new required frameworks.
  • Collaboration with central operations functions which support the trading role including but not limited to Operations and Technology.
  • Strategizing to increase P&L, requiring analysis of markets and products.
  • Liaising with clients in the UK, Europe, Singapore, and the US.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the FCA and NFA.
  • Adhering to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring compliance with regulatory or company determined parameters.
  • Role model for demonstrating the highest standards of integrity and conduct, reflecting Company Values.
  • Complying with the FCA's Code of Conduct.

Skills and Experience:

  • Analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial service markets and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Substantial experience working in and knowledge of the Crude product area.
  • Experience of the infrastructural support required to efficiently support the Crude business line.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
