Job SummaryAs a Fugitive Emissions Detection UAS Operator, you will be responsible for operating multi-rotor drones equipped with OGI and TDLAS sensors to detect, measure, and report gas emissions in industrial settings. You will provide on-site operational support to clients, ensuring accurate data collection for regulatory and environmental compliance. This role will also involve maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and managing data. Extensive travel within Alberta and across Canada will be required to meet the demands of various projects.LocationThis position will require you to move and live in Alberta, CanadaResponsibilities and Duties
- Operate multi-rotor drones with advanced OGI and TDLAS sensors for fugitive emissions detection.
- Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections and maintenance of UAS platforms.
- Accurately collect, analyze, and manage data related to gas emissions for customer reporting.
- Collaborate directly with clients on-site to meet project requirements and ensure high-quality data delivery.
- Maintain flight and maintenance logbooks in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Conduct site surveys and attend review meetings with clients to assess operational needs.
- Travel frequently within Alberta and potentially across Canada to complete field projects.
- Provide general logistical support, including transportation and equipment management.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards throughout all operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise with UAS systems or sensors in the field.
Qualifications and Skills- UAS Operator certification or equivalent drone operation experience.
- Experience with Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) and/or TDLAS sensors preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UAS maintenance and repair, particularly multi-rotor platforms.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and fugitive emissions detection is an asset.
- Ability to work independently or in teams with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills for direct interaction with clients.
- Comfortable with extensive travel and working in various field conditions.
- Prior experience in emissions monitoring or the energy industry is a plus.
Minimum requirement is that the candidate holds at least one of the following certifications: - 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively, sometimes with short notice.
- Certification as a UAS Operator.
