ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES include the following: *Other duties may be assigned. • Maintaining established policies and procedures,standards of practice and Residents Rights, quality assurance, safety,environmental and infection control and other regulatory requirements. • Assess and evaluate Residents abilities and needsas necessary. • Coaching and teaching Residents and familymembers as needed. • Assigning, directing and supervising ResidentAssistants in quality Resident Services • Administering medications and treatments toResidents as directed by their physician. • Taking physicians' orders, episodic charting andmaintaining accurate Resident medical records. • Assisting in making level of servicedeterminations. • Arranging for adequate supplies and properlyfunctioning equipment. • Responding to emergency situations. • Meet the psychological needs of Residents bymaintaining the Residents dignity, providing privacy and confidentiality andgiving gentle and sincere attention to the Residents desires and service needs. • Assisting with other duties as necessary for thesmooth operation of the Community. • Maintain a qualified, efficient staff. • Participate in planning and projects/teams asnecessary. • Enhance professional and personal growth anddevelopment. SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises employees while on duty. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with theorganizationâ€'s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning anddirecting work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to performeach essential duty satisfactorily. Completion ofadvanced teaching in insertion of gastric tubes, completion of a certifiedcourse in IV and blood drawing, knowledge of skills necessary in the assistedliving setting, and knowledge of Residential Care Facility regulationsdesired. Good interpersonal relationshipskills and previous experience working with elders desired. Computer skills are a must. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, documentnotes/medical records, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present informationand respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and thegeneral public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure,using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentand to draw or interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concreatevariables in situations where only a limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Licensed by the State of Ohio Boardof Nursing. Completion of required hoursof pharmacy and additional pharmacy training qualifying to pass medications.
