Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking for a Software Engineer to support one of our government clients in Annapolis Junction, MD. This is a permanent, direct-hire position and will be onsite full time. Position: Software Engineer Location: Full-time onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD Terms : Permanent, Direct-Hire Pay Rate : $150,000 - $170,000 Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage code in a Linux environment.
  • Configure hardware devices and develop critical procedural steps.
  • Design, test, implement, and manage safeguards against cyberattacks.
  • Identify, mitigate, and resolve vulnerabilities within existing security systems.
  • Collaborate with penetration testers to perform penetration tests and assess security issues.
  • Develop organization-wide security measures.
  • Prepare performance reports and communicate system status to users and leadership.
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards, attending educational workshops, and reviewing publications.
  • Experience with embedded system vulnerability development.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within a Scrum team or agile environment.
  • Design, engineer, analyze, and develop software systems.
  • Develop software delivery processes (including DevOps pipelines).
  • Model and analyze software development and deployment processes.
  • Assist Federal agencies in tailoring Agile development and delivery techniques.
  • Engage with Government leaders to define context, problem space, and vision.
  • Develop Agile processes, plans, and architectures to support software development, analysis, and operations.
  • Supervise and mentor subordinate project and Team ManTech staff.
Required Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
  • 5 years of position-relevant work experience
  • DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level II certification
  • Experience with C, C#, C++, SQL, or Java
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and GIT
Additional Desired Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Experience with embedded system vulnerability development.
