POSITION SUMMARY : The assistant coach provides assistance to the head coach in coaching the Moravian University varsity team. The assistant coach is also responsible for developing and implementing programs and strategies to attract quality student-athletes to the University consistent with the policies and regulations governing NCAA Division III institutions, the Landmark Conference, and the University.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist head coach in practice organization, event planning, and game day coaching.
Assist head coach with all phases of recruiting: generating contact lists, high school visits, follow-up contacts, scheduling of campus visits, and promoting the program via participation in prospect days/other recruiting events.
Assist with administrative duties as directed by the head coach: academic supervision of team members, conditioning programs, travel arrangements for away games, and other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Experience coaching offense is preferred but will consider experience in other areas based on the candidates qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree required
Experience: Coaching at the intercollegiate level preferred; related coaching experience in other areas/levels considered; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must be able to work well with student-athletes.
Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
