Overview:The Sioux Falls Canaries are offering a full-time internship for motivated students eager to gain hands-on experience in independent baseball. This unique opportunity allows you to work behind the scenes with a professional sports organization with the American Association of Professional Baseball, an MLB partner league. Throughout this seasonal, full-time position you'll support our mission to provide a first-class experience and deliver exceptional guest service.Position Summary:As the Events and Operations Intern, you'll immerse yourself in a dynamic summer with the Sioux Falls Canaries, acquiring valuable behind-the-scenes experience in professional baseball operations. This role involves hands-on responsibilities in preparing for home game series, managing stadium and game day operations, and more. You will also lead part-time interns and ushers throughout the season. This internship requires a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week in the office and participation in all 50 home games and assigned non-baseball events. This is a full-time, paid position beginning May 5th until the end of the Canaries season (mid-September) and will report to the Director of Game Experience and Internal Media Relations.Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing pre-game, in-game, and post-game on-field promotions.
- Coordinate the game script and help create engaging on-field promotions.
- Assist in designing promotional jerseys and research family-friendly content for promotional nights.
- Organize all promotional items and props before each game.
- Develop and implement props for theme nights.
- Lead and schedule part-time interns and ushers during games.
- Conduct pre-game meetings and answer questions from game-day interns.
- Facilitate post-game meetings and assist with cleanup.
- Support the game host during events and fill on-field activities with personnel.
- Enhance the game day experience for all fans and represent the Canaries brand at various events.
- Assist with dispersing marketing materials throughout Sioux Falls and surrounding areas.
- Assist with community events, player and mascot appearances, and other stadium and baseball operations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
