Job Description:
The Barbara H. Hagan School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Molloy University seeks a fulltime Respiratory Care program faculty member with expertise as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, to join our supportive and energetic community of teacher-scholar-clinicians. The candidate should have an extensive clinical practice background, along with experience in, and enthusiasm for, teaching, student evaluation, curriculum and program assessment, advisement, service, evidence-driven practice. All of our health programs take a holistic and personal approach to the development of students as clinicians and advocates for health equity and improvement of healthcare, and as lifelong learners. The ideal candidate will share this commitment. The position will provide the candidate with the opportunity to teach relevant courses, supervise and evaluate clinical experiences in the specialty, participate in curriculum innovation, mentor and advise students, and provide service to the University, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, profession and community, with additional opportunities to participate in scholarly work, depending on program need and candidate qualifications. Minimum Qualifications:The candidate must possess a master's degree from a regionally accredited academic institution. The candidate should:
  • Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and be eligible for unencumbered NY state license
  • Have a minimum of four (4) years' experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care.
  • Two (2) years' experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program, either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor is preferred
In additional to the minimum qualifications, the following are desirable:
  • NPS, CPFT, RPFT, SOS, and ACCS credentials
  • CPR, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
Salary Information:When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. This hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
