Job Description:
Nassau Community College invites applications for a FT Instructor position. The successful candidate will teach courses including but not limited to, Physical Therapy Assistant courses, plan and deliver curriculum in classrooms, laboratories and/or practicums ensuring that students acquire essential skill sets and objectives stated in departmental course outlines. Instruction should be meaningful and assessment-based so students may be observed and evaluated. Monitor the students' progress, keep grade records and must provide relevant assessment data to the department in a timely manner. Use appropriate terminology, and technology to communicate with students and provide academic support. Comply with College policies and procedures. Maintain a positive and professional learning environment for students.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be currently licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or Physical Therapist (PT) in the United States jurisdiction and is eligible for a license to practice in NY; hold a degree in physical therapy, Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant; one (1) year of full-time post-licensure clinical experience; experience with the role of the PTA; and experience in the specialty area(s) of the curriculum in which the faculty has teaching responsibility.
Please note, all certifications/licenses must be current and valid, and all academic degrees/certificates must be from accredited U.S colleges/universities. Please contact HR for foreign education transcripts/ degrees. In addition, all Faculty are required to have experience with the College's current Learning Management, E-mail, and Video Conferencing Systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
Additional Information:
In addition, to teach certain lecture and upper-level courses, the successful candidate will have a Master's degree; three (3) years of full-time post-licensure clinical experience in physical therapy including supervising Physical Therapist Assistants; and two (2) years teaching experience (classroom and/or clinical and/or in-service and/or presentation of continuing education courses and/or service as a Center Coordinator of Clinical Education).
