Volunteer Coordinators are responsible for setting up volunteer stations, so they are ready for each shift. They are also responsible for managing volunteers and giving clear directions on what their tasks are. They must be able to answer any questions that volunteers may have. Volunteer Coordinators need to have excellent people skills and be willing to accommodate volunteers by answering their questions or placing them where they would be most comfortable working. Volunteers are a very important part of Blessings of Hope, and it is important that they feel appreciated. Mandatory Hours: Tuesday (6am-12pm)Thursday (6am-12pm)1 evening a week as needed (6pm-10pm)1-2 Friday evenings a month (6pm-10pm)1 Saturday morning a month (7am-12pm)Plus 20 additional hours during the week.Responsibilities:
- Set up food processing, packaging, and sorting before volunteer shifts start.
- Make sure the volunteers know how to do their tasks and are having a great experience.
- Answer any questions volunteers have and give clear directions and instructions.
- Engage with volunteers throughout their shift to make sure they know that they are appreciated.
- Ensure that volunteers have everything that they need.
- Clean up and put all food away after each shift.
- Complete all daily tasks that are set by the manager.
Requirements
- Must work well with teammates and have a strong desire to get along with others.
- Can work quickly and efficiently.
- Remain calm when it gets busy.
- Operate forklift. (Training provided)
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Be detail oriented and organized.
- Excellent communication skills.
