Your Role...:
Warehouse Associates will perform a variety of routine tasks required of a distribution center / warehouse work environment by providing general stock keep work in the receiving, storing, and issuing of widely diversified inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving, stocking, retrieving, shipping and or inspecting inventory.
- Counts, sorts and checks in incoming inventory; verifies against requisitions, shipping notices or invoices.
- Ensures inventory are delivered to appropriate warehouse locations as required Replenishes inventory on shelves from warehouse stock and keeps storage areas orderly and neat in appearance
- Ensures that all inventories are properly placed in assigned warehouse locations.
- Conducts cycle counts and periodical inventory audits to determine reordering needs and verify with records; requisitions standard stock items, supplies or materials within established limits.
- Places or changes inventory bar code tags on merchandise; places tags, markers or labels on shelves to identify stock locations.
- Checks inventory being picked against invoices or purchase orders for accuracy
- Packs and ships packages according to instructions using proper sized boxes, appropriate packing materials and sealing tape.
- Insures that boxes are properly labeled for shipping
- Loads inventory for shipment on trucks utilizing motorized industrial trucks, pallet jacks or material moving dollys.
- Discharges all assigned responsibilities in a safe, and responsible manner.
- Performs related duties as required.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
General Skills:
- Knowledge of cataloging and inventory techniques.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving practices.
- Skill in basic arithmetic.
- Ability to effectively communicate (read and interpret) in English
- Position requires: materials handling, stock control and packaging. Experience with motorized industrial trucks may be required.
Work Environment:
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
- Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 70 pounds and prolonged standing and walking.
- Must be capable of manipulating arms, wrists, hands and fingers to retrieve small objects and to use packing equipment.
- Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.
