My client, an up and coming firm specializing in Private Equity and Venture Capital funds, located in Syracuse, NY, are looking to grow their team and bring in a number of Fund Accountants and to service their ever increasing clientele.
NO DIRECT FUND ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED! They are very open to those interested in pivoting and have a genuine interest in the investment space. A general understanding of accounting concepts, journal entries and financial statements are the only must haves! Private Equity knowledge is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities for assigned funds, including but not limited to: NAV calculations, cash reconciliations, portfolio valuation, expense accruals, and investor capital activity.
- Prepare and review financial statements, investor reports, and regulatory filings in accordance with GAAP and industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely completion of deliverables.
- Assist in the onboarding of new clients and funds, including setup of accounting systems and processes.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with exposure to financial services clients but open to all sectors.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, open-minded, and strong work-ethic.
