Job Title: Furnace OperatorJob DescriptionA metalworking company in Goshen is seeking a dedicated 3rd shift furnace operator. Initially, training will be conducted on 1st shift for up to one year until qualified, after which you will transition to the 3rd shift. You will work in a rotation with two others, taking turns to clean out the furnace, operate as a melter, and manage the control room. The role involves pouring chemicals into a furnace that operates at extremely high temperatures between 2900 - 3100 degrees Fahrenheit, working with molten metal, and running forklifts and cranes. This position requires meticulous attention to safety and detail in a very hot and dirty environment.ResponsibilitiesClean out the furnace as part of a rotational team.Operate as a melter in the furnace.Manage the control room operations.Pour chemicals into the furnace.Work with molten metal.Train to operate forklifts and cranes.Complete 7-10 melts per day on average.Essential SkillsExperience with molten metal operations.Understanding of power supply.Experience in machine or furnace operation.Ability to handle high temperatures (40 degrees hotter than outside).Additional Skills & QualificationsFoundry experience.Previous furnace operating experience.Mechanically inclined.Experience with preventive maintenance.Ability to handle heavy lifting.Heat treating experience.Why Work Here?This is a well-established company offering good benefits and regular performance reviews at 30, 60, and 90 days.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is extremely hot and not climate-controlled, typically 40 degrees hotter than outside temperatures. Safety is a priority, and fireproof suits are provided.
