As a volunteer, you will play a role in helping Whatcom Housing for Northwest Youth Services with the physical aspects of furniture relocation. This role is ideal for those who enjoy physical activity and teamwork. key responsibilities
- Assist in the loading and unloading of furniture from trucks and vans.
- Transport furniture within designated areas, ensuring safe handling and careful placement.
- Retrieving furniture from locations in the greater Bellingham area.
- Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff to complete tasks efficiently.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to prevent injuries and damage to furniture.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of furniture moving equipment and work areas.
qualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts.
- Having access to larger vehicles (vans, trucks, SUVs etc.) and the ability to drive the car.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Proof of Washington State Driver's License, driving record, and auto insurance.
- Requires background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in furniture moving or related fields
