Position Summary Ensure satisfaction to customers by restoring merchandise that has been damaged or manufacturer defects. Will work inside the shop or on the dock ensuring outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.Position DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Identify repair needed and follow standard operating procedures to repair based upon the needMaintain inventory and stock levels for all repair furniture kits/toolsRepair upholstered products stitching, panel replacements mechanism/spring repair or replacements, frame repairs buttons, as well as other componentsRepair wood products, burn ins, color matching, panel replacement, adjustment of drawers, doors, glides as well as other componentsPerform daily tasks refurbishing furniture to 1st quality and the finishing of goodsEvaluate damages and select appropriate methods of repair and/or restoration for wood furniture, leather, fabric, and upholsteryOrder replacement parts as neededCommunicate any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware neededEnsure appropriate disposition of damaged productContribute to improvement efforts within quality and performance measures as well as targeted levelsTrain other technicians on special and advanced repair techniquesAssist team as needed to meet goals and ensure the smooth operation of the departmentConducts operations in compliance with OSHA standardsConducts operations in a manner that promotes safetyMaintains a clean free from debris warehouse floorMeet company standards for productivityMust be available to work a flexible schedule, weekends and holidaysKnowledge and ability to repair wood products, burn ins, color matching, panel replacement, adjustment of drawers, doors, glides as well as other componentsClear understanding and experience with Dock Preparation, assembly and staging products.Experience with items that require assembly, which includes all dining chairs, occasional tables and understanding non assembled items such as beds, dining room tables and youth groups.Have a clear perceptive to identify damage and defects with red tape and item issues missing parts. Qualifications*Sign On Bonus: $2,000.00*Pay Out - $500: (3 months)Pay Out - $500: (6 months)Pay Out - $1000 (1 year)*Primary Location*Candidate will report in person to the Distribution Center located at 16500 W 116th St. Lenexa, KS 66219 United States of America.If the Candidate is 100-500+ miles away from the location, Living Spaces will offer Relocation.Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 2 years experience working with upholstery, an array of fabrics, wood furniture, leather and veneer finishes. Able to use necessary tools and equipment. Strong working knowledge of leather repairs, wood repairs including scratches, dents and splits. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience in Microsoft Office programs.
