- Professional experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization.
- Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Political Science, International Relations, Finance, Business Administration, or relevant field.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks of competing priority with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including use of databases; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, including SharePoint.
- Prior experience coordinating activities that require input from a variety of sources.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Relevant country, cultural, or legislative, experience preferred.
- Second Language Fluency encouraged (i.e., Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, French, etc.).
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

- Maintains an understanding of funder and IRI policies and procedures related to grant compliance and oversight.
- Anticipates potential problems and trouble shoots project problems and offers solutions and actively takes part to lead resolution of them with creative and immediate solutions.
- Establishes, maintains, and develops strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders in DC and abroad.
- Develops and coordinates new program ideas.
- Travels as needed for some program oversight and implementation.
Salary Levels and Professional Experience: Professional experience is graded as working a duration of employment, excluding internships and other educational experiences.
- I-04 is an Associate level with 0-2 years professional experience necessary.
- I-05 is a Senior Associate or Coordinator level with 1-3 years professional experience necessary.
- I-06 is a Program Officer or Specialist level with 3-5 years professional experience necessary.
- I-07 is Program Manager or Senior Specialist level with 5-7 years professional experience necessary.
- I-08 is a Senior Program Manager level with 6-8 years professional experience necessary.
- I-09 is a Deputy Director or Program Director level with 8+ years professional experience necessary.
- I-10 is a Director or Senior Advisor level with 10+ years professional experience necessary.
- I-11 is a Senior Director level with 15+ years professional experience necessary.
