Job Duties
We are looking for ten qualified professional Housekeeping Workers who take pride in keeping the workplace a clean, safe & healthy environment for our tenants and visitors.
The Department of General Services, Office of Facilities Management (OFM) is a customer-focused organization whose primary function is to provide a quality environment for the approximately 75 state agencies that occupy the facilities overseen by DGS, which includes over 40 buildings and about 6.45 million square feet of buildings and grounds at the seat of government. OFM strives to ensure tenants enjoy a clean, safe, efficient, and comfortable environment in and around the buildings it manages.
These positions will provide excellent cleaning services for the new General Assembly Building located in downtown Richmond, Virginia. The normal work hours for this position are 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications
The selected candidates must be willing and able to work 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., as well as weekends and some holidays.
Individuals must understand and follow safety practices in using cleaning chemicals and supplies, and must be familiar with the sanitation standards for a public facility.
Applicant must be able to routinely lift, push, or pull 20 pounds and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Additional Considerations
Knowledge of and experience with cleaning techniques & methods for a wide variety of surfaces is preferred.
Knowledge of and experience with cleaning chemicals & industrial custodial equipment is preferred.
Experience in stripping, waxing, and/or shampooing floors is preferred.
