THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1 to work out of Cumberland County in the Southcentral Region. Join our team and protect wildlife and their habitats while promoting hunting and trapping for current and future generations!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Game Land Maintenance Worker 1, you will perform a variety of semi-skilled work and assists with other duties. For example, you will assist with maintenance, repair, and construction of bridges, roads, parking areas, gates, posting signs, ranges, and more. This position will also require you to assist with mowing, habitat management, and other duties as needed. Opportunities include assisting with prescribed burns with firefighting equipment, surveying of new game land tracts, and equipment maintenance. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment; or
  • One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment; or
  • One year of construction equipment operation experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
  • You must obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver's License within one year of employment in this job.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
