The Role

We are seeking an experienced Games Business Leader to drive the vision and execution of our gaming projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in game design, development, and team leadership, with a deep understanding of the latest technologies in the gaming industry. This role will require collaboration with global cross-functional teams, including artists, developers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality, innovative games. As the Games Development Leader, you will be responsible for setting strategic direction, optimizing workflows, and mentoring a team of talented developers to ensure project success from concept to launch. Experience in blockchain or web3 gaming is a plus.

We are seeking visionary business leaders with deep subject matter expertise and proven leadership experience to take our company to the next stage. The focus is to drive new strategic initiatives, grow the existing business, including new and existing partners, and lead and manage teams. They will also manage their P&L. Most importantly, we need leaders who embody a “yes and” mentality, embracing challenges with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a drive to figure things out and deliver impactful results.

The ideal candidate has prior game dev experience, excellent people skills, business acumen, and an exemplary work ethic. We want someone with experience and passion for web3, cryptocurrency, and NFTs. We would love someone with a deep passion for innovation, strong product management skills, and an impressive track record for working in a fast-paced, evolving, creative-minded environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and drive the overall strategy for the games division, focusing on both new and existing game initiatives.
  • Lead and manage game development teams through all stages of game creation, from concept to launch, and post-launch growth.
  • Utilize data analytics, including metrics like Daily Active Users (DAUs), retention rates, and player engagement, to refine and evolve game strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with game team leads to ensure alignment with business goals and timelines while fostering innovation and creativity within the teams.
  • Identify and assess market trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics to steer game development in the right direction.
  • Oversee P&L management for the games division, ensuring financial goals are met and growth opportunities are maximized.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between game teams, marketing, product, and community teams to ensure seamless execution of game-related initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop talent within the games teams, providing leadership and career growth opportunities.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, presenting progress reports, forecasts, and strategic updates to senior leadership and key partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with gaming trends, emerging technologies, and player feedback to maintain a competitive edge in the gaming industry.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • 10+ years of game development experience, including managing projects and teams
  • Strong understanding of the game development process, including pre-production, production, and post-production
  • Successful experience driving the game's strategy and success
  • Prior experience negotiating milestone-based contracts with developers
  • Proven experience managing budgets and resources
  • Experience working cross-functionally for the success delivery of games, partnering with data/analytics, UA management, marketing and more
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to foster and maintain relationships with third-party game studios
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, stellar work ethic, fun collaborator
