Job DescriptionWe are growing! Currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Garage Door Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key player in our service department, you will handle both the sales and service of residential and custom garage doors. Your role involves traveling to various service calls daily, interacting with customers, and providing top-notch service and product sales. We value education, professional, and personal growth and we invest in our team members.We offer competitive pay, training, medical benefits, and PTO.ResponsibilitiesAssemble mechanical components or machine parts.Adjust equipment for optimal performance.Order and replace springs, sections, or slats.Repair or replace worn or broken door parts using hand tools.Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.Remove parts or components from equipment.Install hardware or other interior fixtures.Fabricate parts or components.Run wiring to connect equipment.Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning.Document operational activities.Collect payments for goods or services.Effectively sell ideas and policies within the organization, and products or services in the marketplace.Develop and maintain customer rapport, outstanding communication, and customer service.Replace or repair garage doors, garage door openers and parts.Pick-up inventory from suppliers and restock service truck.Perform job duties in a garage environment during all seasons.Basic Position Requirements:Abilities:Excellent mechanical and technical skills.Physically capable of moving items weighing 75 lbs or more.Ability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods.Strong interpersonal skills to relate to customers and resolve issues.Excellent communication skills for collaboration in any condition.Ability to multitask and handle conflicting events simultaneously.Ability to relay information efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Persuasive skills to engage with customers when necessary.Reliable and self-motivated.Knowledge:Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Garage Door Industry.Proficient with computers and tablets.Knowledge of Google search and navigation systems is a plus.Familiarity with hand tools, mechanical tools, and garage door systems is a plus, but not required.GED, High School Diploma, or suitable equivalent.Training Required:4 weeks apprentice training in the Chicagoland market.Working Conditions:High degree of selling within the organization and in the marketplace.Availability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short notice.Fast-paced and results-oriented job environment.Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.Must pass a drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check.Equipment / Tools:Hand tools and mechanical tools.GPS equipment.Tablet.EducationHigh School Diploma or GEDBenefitsPTO/Sick time.Growth opportunities and career path.TrainingIf you are a motivated individual with a passion for providing exceptional customer service and technical expertise, we encourage you to apply to join AG Smart Garage.
