  • Rebuilds and repairs major serviceable components such as engines, differentials, carburetors, power steering gear boxes, pumps, alternators, transmissions, etc.
  • Diagnoses mechanical problems, understands and relates mechanical problems to failure analysis
  • Correctly operates various types of tools and technical testing equipment
  • Inspects and test drives school buses, trucks and automobiles
  • Completes quality repairs to all school bus, truck and automotive systems in a timely and efficient manner
  • Completes assigned repairs and related reports
  • Performs all functions at or below assigned classification
  • Services, operates and maintains all shop equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License
  • ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) certification (if not, must be obtained and retained)
  • Must either possess a CDL Class C driver license with school bus endorsement or be qualified to train for one (we will train)
  • 3-5 years' experience in the automotive/HD truck/school bus repair fields (training and/or time in school not included)
  • An oral and hands-on assessment will be administered
