We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner with gastroenterology experience to provide medical services in collaboration with our gastroenterology physicians. Join us in providing top notch patient care including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Conduct Gastroenterology assessment of patient, documenting pertinent findings. Initiate, perform and interpret diagnostic tests. Systematically compare and contrast clinical diagnostic findings with normal and abnormal variations in making differential diagnoses. Utilize evidence-based care practices to meet the needs of complex patients. Evaluate diagnoses and the effectiveness of the interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Prescribe treatments, therapy procedures, and medications in accordance with New York State and federal law. Consider the patients comprehensive overall health needs with integrated delivery of patient care. Collaborate with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients. Perform other job-related duties as required. Participate in staff educational programs and meetings.
Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State Education Department. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a New York State approved accrediting body - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Must possess current, unrestricted New York State license. Minimum 1 year gastroenterology experience (R) Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration. Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll. Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written. Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
