CTG is seeking to fill a GCM Relationship Manager I opening for our client in Wilmington, DE.

Location: Wilmington, DEDuration: 12 months

Overview:The GCM Relationship Manager I is responsible for managing client relationships and overseeing the daily administration of assigned Global Capital Markets (GCM) accounts, ranging in complexity and risk. The position involves ensuring the successful operation of GCM transactions, managing client service, and ensuring compliance with the bank's strategic objectives. The Relationship Manager is also a key point of contact for clients, internal teams, and external service partners, aiming to achieve long-term business growth and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage administrative and operational systems, databases, and activities related to accounts with moderate complexity and risk to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Review, analyze, and provide feedback on the negotiation and drafting of documents and agreements related to assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to ensure regulatory compliance and manage risks associated with assigned accounts.
  • Resolve issues related to account control and client service promptly, leveraging internal and external resources as needed.
  • Coordinate with external parties (attorneys, financial advisors, etc.) to structure and close GCM transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Handle account administration activities including cash flow execution, fee billing, reporting, and other related tasks.
  • Participate in sales calls, assist in the preparation of fee proposals, and support the development of new business opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with current and prospective clients, working to uncover opportunities for new business and expanding client engagement.
  • Implement and track fee adjustments, billing, and receivables.
  • Provide support and coverage for other Relationship Managers as needed.
  • Represent GCM at transaction closings, client meetings, and presentations, preparing relevant documentation.
  • Engage in departmental projects and corporate initiatives as necessary.
  • Supervise or mentor less experienced associates as required.
  • Maintain awareness of risk and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to company policies and controls.
  • Promote a diverse work environment that aligns with the M&T Bank brand and values.

Scope of Responsibilities:The Relationship Manager will oversee accounts of moderate complexity and risk, ensuring all administrative and operational activities are conducted in compliance with internal controls and external regulatory requirements. The role requires significant interaction with clients, external parties, and internal departments to ensure exceptional service delivery.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:The position may include supervision or mentorship of less experienced associates within the team.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in corporate trust administration, financial services operations, or a related field.
  • Experience in managing client relationships and overseeing transactional operations.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Advanced degree or professional certifications in financial services or related fields.
  • Experience in GCM (Global Capital Markets) transactions and operations.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
