Position Title General Assistant: Fine Arts Department Job Type Temporary/Contractual Position Information
The Department of Fine Arts invites applications for a General Assistant. The general assistant will work report to the Building Manager for the Ella Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center (PAC). The general assistant will be responsible for supervising and managing the operations of PAC during operational days, evenings and weekends. This is a contractual, per hourly position; hours will be from twenty (20) hours per week to thirty (30). Hourly Range is $15.00 - $23.00 per hour
Responsibilities
* Along with the building manager will serve as a resource to other major agencies and departments on campus, alumni and off campus groups
* Interact with building tenants
* Work with the Physical Plant housekeeping staff
* Manage internal and external events, overseeing scheduling and reservations
* Will work with Public Safety in opening and securing the facility
* Will monitor activities and events
* Will oversee the use of audio/visual equipment in conjunction with the Department of Information Technology
* Routinely inspect the physical condition of the facility; will initiate work orders and monitor the work progress and completion
* Maintain daily shift reports
* Perform other duties as assigned
Classification 25-0000 Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED
* Two years of experience providing administrative support
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
* Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Strong communication skills to include written communication within a culturally and ethnically diverse environment
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to function effectively independently and/or as a part of a team
