Location: Shadowbriar Elementary SchoolDepartment: Shadowbriar ESArea:WestContract Months:10Salary Range: $14.57 - $24.03JOB SUMMARYUnder direct supervision, performs general office support and non-complex clerical duties following established procedures and detailed instructions and knowledge of automated systems.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* Provides clerical support to one or more supervisors.* Maintains general office and departmental files, following up on misplaced, misdirected, or misfield materials.* Processes documents in accordance with established procedures.* Looks up files and retrieves content as requested.* May transfer files to storage and set up new files as directed.* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUEDPerforms other job-related duties as assigned.EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma or GEDWORK EXPERIENCE6 months to 1 yearSKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION* HTML, Microsoft Office, Chancery* Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier)LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIESNo supervisory or direct people management responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice and training to staff.WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENTWork and tasks are often straightforward, routine, structured and guided by established policies and procedures. Little, if any, independent judgment is required, outside of making basic choices in the selection and application of established methods. The job receives frequent, ongoing supervision.BUDGET AUTHORITYNo budget development activity is required.PROBLEM SOLVINGDecisions are made on routine matters affecting few individuals and usually within the confines of the job's own department. Specific job activities and results are typically reviewed closely. There are limited requirements for developing new ideas or changes in methods, procedures or services.IMPACT OF DECISIONSFollows rules and procedures. Decisions can have minimal or no impact to HISD. Errors can be readily detected, usually by the employee, and, if made, would result in minor expense for correction.COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONSBasic communication - very little communication required such as receiving basic instructions. Interactions are mostly with customers, own supervisor and co-workers in own department.CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPSFollows through with customer inquiries, requests and complaints.
