S Inc. is seeking a General Clerk III (GC III) to join our publications team in our corporate HQ in Cummings Research Park, Huntsville, AL.

This is not a teleworking position. The duty site is 615 Discovery Drive NE, Huntsville, AL. Military experience is a plus. This GC III is a non-exempt hourly wage position.

Job Description:

Working under direction, the General Clerk III uses subject matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence.

Responsibilities:

* Assists in a variety of administrative matters, maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (stored both manually and electronically); verifying reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information; and handling customer requests.

* Specific duties may be assigned by the functional department.

* Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers.

* Answer telephones, direct calls, and take messages.

* Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer.

* Basic bookkeeping, and complete banking transactions.

* Complete and mail bills, contracts, policies, invoices, or checks.

* Open, sort, and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail.

* Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.

* Process and prepare documents, such as business or government forms and expense reports.

* Compute, record, and proofread data and other information; such as records or reports.

* Complete work schedules, manage calendars and arrange appointments.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in English or Administration or related field.

* Requires a minimum of 5 years related experience.

* Requires 5 years of experience using a computer in a network environment.

* A skill rating of 4 out of 5 using Microsoft Office.
